If someone researches a product on mobile and eventually makes a purchase on desktop, this is a type of behavior to be addressed. Furthermore, it can be argued that desktop serves to complement mobile platforms and vice versa. In short, desktop isn't going anywhere.

Did you know that bounce rate tends to show up better on desktop computers than smartphones? Anyone that has ever used their phone to go online may tell you that their attention tends to fade. What this means is that they may click on a site and leave immediately, no matter how well-made it is. On the other hand, browsing the Internet on a traditional computer can maintain one's attention, which goes a long way from a bounce rate perspective.
