Learn Some On And Off Page Search Engine Optimization Tips

By Kenneth Stevens

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is increasingly important these days, as more businesses struggle to secure the highest ranking possible on Internet search engine results. Internet marketing is a fiercely competitive world, and if your business's website is not optimized for maximum web exposure, it will, literally, fall behind the many websites that are. If you want to land your webpage on the coveted first page of search engine results, there are some things you can do to improve your chances by optimizing the site itself (on page), and the off-site direct links (off page). Follow these on and off page search engine optimization tips:

On page:

The title for each page should be catchy and unique. When it comes to applying SEO, the significant aspects that are mostly considered are both the title and the description. The title should be able to have the important keyword phrase to attract the search engine spiders easily and the title description should at least have seventy words.

Work towards picking out the heading keywords and give priority. Use keywords in your headers according to its priority from H1 to H3. You have to be aware that search engine spiders look at header keywords first before identifying important content. Your URLs should also be optimized.

Your URLs also need to be optimized. In so doing, the URLs should contain the targeted keywords and the pages of your site should contain a short , static URL.

Be careful not to overload content with too much keywords and he density should at least be between two and five percent. Too much of it can cause a backfire and will result to low search engine rankings.

Off page:

Articles that you have need to be distributed to the other sites. Always remember to put a back link to your site for all the other article that you have placed in article directories since this is a great and inexpensive method to maximize your presence in the net.

Build an Internet presence outside of your site. This involves creating pages on social networking sites and bookmarking sites in order to drive more traffic to your site. Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube, Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon are good places to start.

Do not forget to list your site on directories that are also related to your site. You can choose to provide a back link to your site on as many directories if you can.

Blog commenting is a strong and effective method in creating more traffic. Commenting on blogs can give you a personal connection with your online visitors and potential clients. Do not just add any comment, add good quality comments and always provide a back link to your site.
