Mickey Mouse Should Use a Social Media Agency

By Rob Sutter

It's no secret that entertainment seems to be more geared towards a younger demographic but should Disney attempt to appeal to the teenage audience so much? I ask this because its mascot, Mickey Mouse, seems to have fallen off of the face of the planet. This shouldn't be, considering the legacy that this one character has. Mickey was able to help this brand more than anyone else, I feel, and he could definitely make a return thanks to the services of a social media agency.

Shows the likes of Hannah Montana aren't ones that I can really picture Mickey being attracted to. He comes from a time when animation had heart and he wasn't someone who seemed to follow the trends of everyone else. However, his exposure has decreased and instead of being a noteworthy figure, he's become a catalyst for such names as the Jonas Brothers to utilize. This mouse needs to get back in the game if he wants to establish his relevance for the long term.

Mickey would find it quite appealing to look into an social media agency in order to gain traffic towards his name. It's not like he would have difficulty doing so, considering just how many companies offer the facets to do so. Such companies as fishbat are full-service and they will cover just about every aspect of digital media that one can think of. Since Mickey and his popularity are unfortunately fleeting, hiring on such an entity would be in his favor.

Mickey might not be well-known in terms of music or reality TV but the truth of the matter is that he shouldn't be. He is his own person and I think that he resting upon his laurels would not be the best move to make. Mickey's future should be the focus, especially when it comes to a more mature outlook. He should look to an older crowd in order to stay relevant, though his involvement in games like "Kingdom Hearts" and the "Epic Mickey" series have shown that he can do well.

It should be easy enough to bring Mickey back to prominence based on the "Kingdom Hearts" series alone. The fan base that the games have is stupendous and the mouse certainly has evolved from the silent cartoon character that he originated has. However, those names appeal to a specific audience and I'm not entirely certain if every group in the world is going to gravitate towards them. The mouse needs to utilize the airwaves of the Internet if he wants to bring himself back to prominence.
