Using an Autoresponder with Your Lead Generation Website

A lead generation website is one that encourages a visitor to make an investigation or opt in to receive more info about goods and services.

When setting up a new website for the needs of lead generation, or changing a site that does not have an opt-in box, consideration should be made when choosing an email program.

There are many fantastic corporations that may handle all your e-mails and these programs can be engineered to send out a series of pre-written messages as fast as someone signs up.

Mostly you can choose to need a double opt-in process to provide help in protecting both you and your prospects from getting punished due to spam disputes or not. I've found requiring prospects to confirm their request for detailed information significantly decreases the number of leads you may ultimately get.

You may also need to write your emails to provide valuable content - not just a selling spiel. Consider it. How long do you stay subscribed to an e-mail list that offers nothing more than a crass sales message every 2 days?

Consider also the info you ask for when you design your opt-in box. People do not like giving out too much information at first, but always get the subscriber's first and last names and you may have a box for any other info pertinent to your business.

For example, you might have a drop down box that lists the products on your site and from that you can find out specifically what information your subscriber is attempting to find. If you have six different products you can then build 6 different list within your e-mail programme and target info and other products in particular to those folks.

Whenever you set up autoresponders or any kind of e-mail campaign, it's critical that your emails are checked and checked again. Many individuals aren't impressed by spelling errors, and even more will not read an e-mail that's a mile long. Make your mails precise and to the point, and written in short paragraphs, in simply digestible lumps.

Once your list has grown to a respectable size, you can also send out a monthly newsletter, informing customers about new products and services you have added.

Address your customer by his first name, not "dear subscriber" as is typically seen, and write your copy as if you are writing to a chum, don't blind subscribers with "get this" or "buy this", it turns folk off. The most effective way effect a sale is by helping folks, by giving them topical info and anything free is usually good, for instance a free e-book.

Make sure that everything you send your customer is applicable and of worth. If your "unsubscriber" list builds too quickly, that's a sure sign you are doing anything wrong, though you will always get some folks that unsubscribe.

So understand that your auto-responder and the e-mails you send out are at the very heart of your lead generation website. You would not have a lead generation website without it. So spend a while modifying and refining this side of your system. Don't just toss away a handful of email pitches. Relate. Build a relationship. Ask for feedback and participation.
